On March 29th, 2017, the Spring 2017 Pledge Class welcomed Eric Golman, CEO of UMD startup Javazen. Javazen is a unique coffee product mixed with tea, providing a healthier and convenient alternative to mainstream coffee products. The company had recently released its product in the form of one-use brew bags, as an eco-friendly substitute for K-Cups. The event was formatted as a Q&A session where Phi Chi Theta brothers and Smith School business students had the opportunity to ask questions about the product, company, and entrepreneurship.
